Arsenal striker Lucas Perez wants to leave the club according to his agent, citing lack of first team opportunities as the reason for the Spanish striker wanting to move after just one season at The Emirates.

Perez has been no more than a bit part player this season for the club, starting only twice despite impressing every time he was given a chance, either as sub or as a cup starter, he was named on the bench for last weekend’s FA Cup win over Chelsea but didn’t come on.

His agent said, on Sky Sports:

“The idea is to be able to play for another club, we want to leave and Arsenal already know. Do you know anyone who is happy but has no opportunities?”

Perez wasn’t a cheap signing at £17m, and it will be a real shame to let him go, but players like this need to play and this season, he struggled to break into the first team despite contributing with assists and playing well when he came on, I for one will be sad to see him go.
