Hector Bellerin insists he sees his immediate future with Arsenal amid reports linking him with a transfer in the summer. The Spain international has endured a difficult season, mirroring the struggles of a side which has missed out on Champions League qualification for the second year in succession. Despite his patchy form, Bellerin has emerged as a target for Juventus, while Manchester United, who are in the market for a new right-back and long-term successor to Antonio Valencia, are also monitoring his situation.
Reports last week claimed Arsenal could even look to cash in on the 22-year-old in an attempt to boost the funds available to whoever replaces Arsene Wenger. Bellerin, however, remains adamant he is settled in London and is not yet ready to seek a new challenge. Asked about whether he might be ready to move on Bellerin said in an interview with Mr Porter: ‘I don’t know what to say – football always changes. I’m so happy here. ‘This has been my home for seven years. I sound like a Londoner, my friends are from London – it’s the place I want to be right now.
‘In the future, you never know. Obviously, I grew up in Barcelona, and when I watch them play I want them to win. The team are always going to be in my heart.’ On Arsenal’s struggles this season, he added: ‘At the beginning, I was someone who was doing really well. ;Then when things started going not that well, everything was just negative, negative, negative. ‘As a team, if you don’t have the best season, it doesn’t help…It’s been a tough one. ‘We were doing well until November. We always have that period where we suffer a little bit. As a team, the most important thing is results. ‘If you can win beautifully like [Manchester] City do – even better.’
