Arsenal are keen on a deal to sign Boca Juniors winger Cristian Pavon, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that the north London side are keen on a move to bring the 22-year-old Argentine to The Emirates next year as they ponder bolstering their attacking options.
However, the same report says that Boca Juniors are likely to demand a high fee for Pavon, who could cost as much as £40m.
The story says that Arsenal boss Unai Emery is a big fan of Pavon and wants to sign him to give his attack more “edge” at The Emirates.
The article also claims that Boca are “braced” for a bid close to their asking price of £40m, as the winger’s future remains in doubt.
The attacking midfielder has scored two goals in seven league appearances for Boca so far this season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are currently looking to establish themselves as one of the main contenders for a top four finish this season as they aim to break back into the Champions League spots.
However, their next game is a League Cup clash against Tottenham at The Emirates on Wednesday night in the quarter-finals.
