ARSENAL will demand Raheem Sterling from Manchester City in any deal for Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.
Arsenal are expecting another offer from Manchester City in January for Alexis Sanchez, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
And the Daily Mail claim they will demand Raheem Sterling is included in any agreement for the Chile international.
The Gunners had hoped to nab the England international in the summer before Pep Guardiola put paid to the idea.
However, Arsene Wenger reportedly still harbours ambitions of bringing the 22-year-old to the Emirates.
Arsenal’s bargaining position, however, is weak given Sanchez will have just six months remaining on his contract in January.
And Sterling’s scintillating form this season means it is unlikely City would allow him to leave.
The England international has made 15 appearances this term in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists.
However, City’s large squad means he has started just six Premier League games this term so could be tempted by more regular football in north London.
Speaking about a possible deal for Sanchez in the New Year, Guardiola said earlier this month: “The transfer window is closed, so it’s not time to talk about that.
“I have respect for Arsenal and especially for my own players.
“On Alexis, you know my opinion, but he’s an Arsenal player – so it’s not correct to talk about that – especially before we play them.
“He is an Arsenal player. We have to analyse how to control him because he is such an important player for them, the huge talent that he has.”
