Arsenal are set to sign young midfielder Matteo Guendouzi ‘in the coming days’, according to reports.
Gunedouzi, the France youth international, currently plays for Lorient in his homeland, but he endured a tough season throughout 2017/18.
Though he started the campaign in Lorient’s first-team, he was dropped from the squad towards the end of November after clashing with his manager in the dressing room at half-time of a 4-2 defeat at Valenciennes.
Guendouzi came back into the side in February, and Lorient won five of the next eight games that the 19-year-old started, but after being dropped for the trip to Nimes on April 24, it was made clear Guendouzi will not play for the Ligue 2 side again.
It is stated that the deal is all but complete to take Guendouzi to the Emirates, with the teenager heading to London for a medical on Monday.
Capped at three youth levels by France, Guendouzi is currently training with the France squad ahead of the European Under-19 Championship, which kicks-off on July 16.
