ARSENAL manager Unai Emery has made Emile Smith Rowe part of his future plans – and the youngster repaid him with a storming pre-season performance.
The 17-year-old looked comfortable playing in attacking midfield behind the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
Video footage shows him looking confident in possession and well in-tune with his team-mates as they faced Borehamwood on Saturday.
The clip displays his impressive ability to take on players, while also knowing the right time to release the ball.
The midfielder has spent the last two weeks training with the senior squad after being promoted by Emery.
His inclusion has seen him increasingly compared to Manchester City‘s Kevin De Bruyne by Gunners fans.
The footage was uploaded to YouTube channel BesAFC on Jul 14, where it has racked up more than 36,000 hits already.
And supporters are very impressed with their new manager’s decision.
“Baller, hope he gets a chance in the Premier League,” one comment read.
Another added: “What a talent, the next Kevin De Bruyne.”
And a third claimed: “Highly promising player for us.
Smith Rowe has been capped by England at U16, U17 and U18 level while progressing through the ranks at Arsenal’s Hale End academy.
He had a trial at Chelsea aged nine before signing for Arsenal shortly afterwards.
And Gooners will love the fact he has rejected offers from Spurs and Barcelona.
