According to reports from GFFN, Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign French teenage midfielder Matteo Guendouzi from Lorient.
The report claims that the fee agreed between the two clubs is in the region of €8 million plus bonuses, and state that a medical has been scheduled for early next week with a five-year contract on the table.
The 19-year-old, who has previously been linked with a move to Tottenham and Manchester City, made 21 appearances for the Ligue 2 side last season as they finished seventh.
Guendouzi, a holding midfielder who has shown great promise since breaking into Lorient’s first team, certainly appears to fit the bill for new Gunners boss Unai Emery, as he looks to bring in a number of players ahead of the new season.
The holding midfielder has been compared to Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot in recent months due to his powerful stride and his composure in possession.
