Arsenal star striker Alexis Sanchez has been alleged to have a burst up with Arsene Wenger.
However, the Chilean has taken to social media to suggest he remains united with his Arsenal team-mates.
The Chilean forward was a surprise omission from Arsene Wenger’s starting line-up for Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.
That was after he allegedly walked out of a training session in the build-up to the game, something Wenger claimed was “completely false” at his press conference on Monday ahead of Arsenal’s Champions League meeting with Bayern Munich.
Un verdadero guerrero no lucha por odio a los que tiene enfrente. Si no por AMOR a los que tiene detrás ⚪️? let ‘s go Gunners . “el único fracaso es no intentarlo. ” ⚽️ The true warrior fights not because he hates the ones in front of him, but because he loves those behind him. ?⚪️ Let ‘ go Gunners. ” The only failure is not trying.” ??
The former Barcelona player, 28, came on as a half-time substitute at Anfield and set up Danny Welbeck’s goal for the away side.
He has scored 20 goals in all competitions this season, 17 of them coming in the Premier League, and has 62 in total since moving from the Nou Camp in 2014.
With Arsenal 5-1 down to Bayern and therefore likely to go out of Europe – allied with the fact they have dropped to fifth in the Premier League – Sanchez has been tipped to leave the Emirates this summer.
Arsenal captain Per Mertesacker, speaking on Monday morning, admitted the focus on Sanchez’s situation is proving to be a distraction.
The German said: “He (Wenger) has got a lot of options now. He has got 25 options now so it’s very difficult for him to decide who is playing.
“I approach every training [session as though] everyone wants to push to get that starting spot, to be in the line-up.
“It’s about chances and taking chances. It’s not about individual players. It’s not going to be about one single player.
“All these questions about one player are very distractive (sic) to our team. It’s about tomorrow. We’ve got a game to face tomorrow which is really important to our team.”
