Wales boss Ryan Giggs thinks Aaron Ramsey will improve as a player by moving to a “top-class” club like Juventus.

The Welsh midfielder is set to end his long association with Arsenal at the end of the season after agreeing pre-contract agreement with Juventus for next season, according to Sky in Italy.

The 28-year-old has been with Arsenal since 2008 and has made over 300 appearances for the club.

When asked if the move abroad will benefit one of his key players for the national team, Giggs told Sky Sports: “I hope so. You’ve seen the effect it’s had on Gareth Bale. He’s going to a top-class football club, one of the best in the world. That will improve you as a player.

“When you’re an international coach, all you want is your players playing and he’ll be playing at the highest level.”

Giggs was speaking after the Class of 92 announced David Beckham had bought a 10 per cent share in National League

promotion chasers Salford City, making the Class of 92 majority shareholders in the club.

Beckham joins former Old Trafford team-mates Gary and Phil Neville, Nicky Butt, Giggs and Paul Scholes as part-owners of the club, who are in the running for promotion to Sky Bet League Two.

Their former club Manchester United are enjoying a renaissance in form since the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has won his first seven games in charge.

“Everyone is smiling at the moment,” Giggs said. “There’s a massive buzz around the place.

“We’re playing really good football – to get seven wins on the bounce takes a lot of doing no matter who you are. We’ve got to carry that momentum….there’s a long way to go, there will be bumps in the road but everyone is happy and smiling.”
