Virtually everyone expects Arsenal to sign a world class striker this summer, but with Jamie Vardy rejecting us, Morata looking like he will stay at Real Madrid and other strikers too expensive for Wenger logic, Arsenal have been scouting in South America, Asia and Africa according to reports.
And if reports from Japan today are anything to go by, Arsenal are close to reach an agreement for the signing of highly rated Sanfrecce Hiroshima of Japan striker Takuma Asano. According to the reports, Arsenal have made an official offer for Takuma Asano and the player could in a matter of days become an Arsenal player.
Takuma Asano scored 20 goals in 75 matches for his club last season and has so far been capped four times by Japan. According to Sanyo News which is the Japanese media outlet breaking the news, Arsenal have made a big money offer for the player and they believe a deal will be agreed very soon.
Though it remains to be seen how Arsenal intend to get a work permit for the player. The club has the option of applying for a special talent visa for him but we have not been so successful with that lately. However, if the club are interested in him, they must believe getting him a work permit to enable him play for us is not going to be an issue.
