Arsenal have allowed AS Roma to retain Wojciech Szczesny for another season according to reports. The Poland international who left Arsenal last season to team of with Roma had confirmed he will like to remain at the Rome club for at least another season and if repors today are to be believed, Arsenal are going to be using him as a bait to sign Kostas Manolas from As Roma.
Roma are said to be going through some financial difficulties which means they can’t afford to buy Szczesny out right which means Arsenal can do a swap deal plus some cash to get Manolas. The deal will be easier as Szczesny has confirmed he will like to remain at Roma which means he will be willing to take a pay cut.
And should Manolas sign for Arsenal, it will make a lot of sense in that we could do with a centre back of his quality. The Greece international was linked with a move to Arsenal from Olympiakos in 2014 but chose to instead sign for Roma and after performing so well in Italy, he could be on his way to England.
A combination of Manolas and Koscienly in our defense will make a lot of sense. Both players will so complement each other.
