According to reports by Gazzetta dello Sport as quoted by Sport Witness, West Ham will rekindled their interest in Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardo this summer.
The Hammers have shown Interest in the 23-year-old as according to Gazzetta, earlier this last month the Nerazzurri had recently received an offer from West Ham.
The Nerazzurri are said to be ready to sell the player in order to balance the books, they will however want at least €40m for the highly rated Argentine. The player has also been linked with a move to Arsenal and with the hammers not in the Champions League next season, Arsenal have a good chance of getting him.
However, Arsenal and West Ham are not the only teams keen on signing the player as Atletico Madrid are also eyeing the Argentine but they are yet to submit a formal offer.
According to the reports, Atletico and not Arsenal or West Ham are favourites for the Argentine’s signing. With West Ham not playing in the Champions League next season, we can discount the interest from the Hammers but The Gunners will face a very tough challenge from the Roji Losblancos as Atletico are often not scared to spend, unlike Arsenal under Wenger.
In the summer of 2013/13 season, Icardi broke into Inter’s first team where ne netted 10 times in 31 appearances. After a poor start to his Inter Milan career, the former Sampdoria and Barca youth team player has gone on to become a key player for Inter Milan.
He has in 105 games scored 52 goals which is quite a record for a player playing in a league as defensive as the Italian Serie A. The player has also been linked with Manchester United but from all indication, United no longer need him.
It will be interesting if Wenger can beat West ham and Atletico Madrid to the signing of the Argentine. He will certainly score tons of goals for us. If he can score 52 goals in 105 games for Inter Milan, he should do way better with Arsenal considering the caliber of midfielders the Gunners have.
