The success of every club largely depends on how a team performs but you cannot take away the facts that there are key players.
Arsenal’s attack have been built on Alexis Sanchez but Arsene Wenger has revealed that there limit to which Arsenal can do to get the player to sign an extension contract.
The Chile international’s future has been the subject of much speculation in recent times, with Arsenal making little progress in their efforts to tie him down to a new deal.
Sanchez would be free to walk away from the Emirates Stadium at the end of next season, and Wenger admits that money is one of the issues.
Nonetheless, Wenger has subtly reveal that Arsenal will not pay over the odds during negotiation for a player no matter how they try to bully them.
‘It always starts with money, it finishes with money and in between the players want to stay or want to go,’ Wenger told beIN SPORTS.
‘When the players want to stay it’s easier to find an agreement. We can certainly find an agreement. You cannot put the club in jeopardy as well for the players.
‘I think no matter what happens we’ll try to keep them and we’ll go as high as we can and if we cannot go further, we cannot go further. That’s basically it. That’s the way you have to manage a football club.
“Alexis Sanchez is a committed player who wants to stay. I’m convinced we’ll find an agreement. It has to be in our potential.’
Given how inflated the market is, what Sanchez is currently demanding is fair enough if you consider his age. We know what is happening in China.
