Big Blow! Shock as Arsenal Striker picks up ankle injury – Ruled out of Chelsea game

Arsenal are left almost thread bare in the middle of the park as most of the midfielders have picked up injuries.

To add to Arsene Wenger’s woes, Oliver Giroud is reported a doubt for the trip to Chelsea this Saturday.

Giroud, 30, was withdrawn at half-time of Arsenal‘s 2-1 defeat at home to Watford on Tuesday after suffering an ankle knock.

And, according to The Times, he may not be fit in time to face Chelsea this weekend.

It will come as a blow to Arsene Wenger, who is already set to be without Aaron Ramsey at Stamford Bridge.

The Welshman has been ruled out with a calf injury suffered against the Hornets.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain however, is reportedly expected to be fit after he was seen limping towards the end of the match at the Emirates.

Arsenal’s title challenge is currently hanging by a thread.

The Gunners go to west London sitting third in the table, now nine points adrift of leaders Chelsea after their draw at Liverpool.
