With Henrikh Mkhitaryan now going to Manchester United despite the fact that Arsenal were reported to be the forerunners for his signature, Arsenal according to various reports from the German media have moved in to sign Julian Draxler from Wolfsburg. The highly rated former Schalke 04 player is having a great tournament with Germany in the European Championship in France.
He was before going to Wolfsburg linked with a move to Arsenal from Schalke and with Arsenal in need of a striker/wing forward, Wenger is said to have personally taken it upon himself to convince the player to move to Arsenal this summer. Wolfsburg reprotedly wants 30 million for him. According to the reports in the German media, Wolfsburg have told Arsenal the £30 million bid will be accepted and should Arsenal be able to reach an agreement with the player, he will be playing for Arsenal next season.
The versatility of Draxler will be very useful to Arsenal next season. He can play on the wings, in the 10 role and as well as a striker when necessary. He is likely to command less than £95,000 a week which means reaching an agreement on personal terms won’t be that much of a problem to Arsenal.
