In a news that is certainly going to excite Arsenal fans the world over, news from Germany today indicates that Bayern Munich have told Mario Gotze he can leave the club this summer as after the Bavarians signed Renato Sanchez from Benfica, his services are no longer needed. This reports tallies with the report from BILD yesterday, which we reported, that claims Arsenal have had a bid accepted by Bayern Munich for the world cup winner.
Gotze has in recent time been very vocal about his unhappiness at Bayern Munich under now departed Pep Guardiola. Gotze was mostly used as a bit part player by Guardiola last season but when the Spaniard left the club, it was thought that Gotze will be a key figure in incoming manager Carlo Ancelotti’s team next season.
Liverpool, Chelsea, Liverpool, Juventus, PSG and his former club Borussia Dortmund have all been linked with the signing of Mario Gotze but if recent reports are true, Arsenal will be signing him unless he fails a medical or the club and the player are not able to reach an agreement on personal terms.
Gotze is reportedly on a wage package of £120,000 a week at Bayern Munich which is unlikely to be a problem for Arsenal to top. He will likely be demanding as much as £140,000 a week.
