Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United both feature in a video published by Bundesliga club Schalke following their capturing of Swiss international striker Breel Embolo.
Schalke completed the signing of the 19-year-old striker on Sunday, just a day after Embolo played in his country’s European championship exit against Poland.
The youngster reportedly joined the Bundesliga side from FC Basel. Schalke’s video celebrating the capturing of the teenager includes the badges of both Arsenal and Manchester United.
Schalke confirmed his arrival by releasing a video on social media site Twitter, which suggested they had beaten Arsenal and Manchester United, as well as Barcelona, Wolfsburg and Red Bull Leipzig, to Embolo’s signature
Without doubt, Arsenal and Manchester United were credited with interest in the ywonderkid. It is unclear whether they battled with Schalke for his signing.
Embolo appears in the video, saying: “I’m proud to be a Royal Blue.”
The youngster was born in Cameroon but represents Switzerland. He is considered one of the brightest and hottest prospects in European football.
The striker scored 30 goals in 86 games for Basel and appeared in all four of Switzerland’s games at Euro 2016 where he impressed, without finding the net.
The Gunners may end up not signing a top notch striker this summer if they do not pay good money for good talent in this money driven transfer market. The North London club should learn that good players come with high price tag.
