Arsenal are according to Telegraph set to go on a spending spere that will see the gunners complete the signing for 5 high profile players that will see the club spending as much as 80 million pounds within the last 8 days of the transfer window.
Jeremy Wilson of telegraph reports that chief among Arsenal targets is Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema. After seeing the attempt to sign Liverpool’s Luiz Suarez fail, Wenger has now set his sights on purchasing Karim Benzema from Real Madrid and he is confident the club can close a deal for 40 million pounds.
Although many are of the believe Real Madrid will be adamant to sell Benzema, sources within Arsenal are of the believe that Spain Under-21 forward Álvaro Morata is ready to step into a more senior starting role at the club. And Madrid may well put in a bid for Suarez which will enable Arsenal to easily sign Benzema.
Another player Wenger is said to be interested in signing is Newcastle United’s Cabaye. Arsenal had put in a bid of 10 million pounds for the French man which was outrightly rejected by Newcastle. Wenger is however according to reports set to table another bid which he believes will be good enough to get him the France international midfielder.
Di Maria is another player Wenger hopes to sign before the window closes. Di Maria is thought to be available if the right offer comes in. He was initially included in the deal for Gareth Bale. The potential signing of Di Maria will put a big question mark on the future of Podolski at Arsenal.
Arsenal are also keen on a goal keeper according to the report. They firmly have their sights on 3 different keepers from which they hope to sign one. Valencia’s Vicente Guaita, Stoke City’s Asmir Begovic and QPR’s Julio Cesar are been seriously considered. If the reports are to be believed, Arsenal are closest to signing Guaita for around 10 million pounds.
Flamini is another player that Arsenal is likely to sign before the window slams shut. The French international has been training with Arsenal in the last 1 month after coming to end of his contract with AC Milan. The French man had left Arsenal in 2009 on a free transfer for Milan and if the reports are true, he is set to make a return on a free transfer.
