After losing to Premier League title to Leicester City last season, you’d expect a more pragmatic Arsenal in the transfer market this window, unfortunately, we have seen more players departed the club than signed.
Arsenal have confirmed the departure of Joel Campbell, who will spend this season on loan with Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon, per Arsenal official website.
The presence of the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez has prevented the gifted attacker from featuring regularly, while Theo Walcott, Alex Iwobi and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all also ahead of him in Wenger’s preferences.
The Costa Rican impressed last season when some of the attackers of Arsenal were banjaxed with injuries.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for Julian Draxler and the deal for Campbell means the aforementioned German can be accomodated in the squad. However, Joel Campbel might be the unfortunate victim, cos he’ contributed more than Chamberlain and Walcott in the period he was starred, but it makes a lot of sense.
