New Arsenal manager Unai Emery has revealed that his side has been hit with a bit of a defensive injury blow ahead of this week’s Europa League fixture.
The Gunners have somehow managed to win five games in a row in the Premier League – seven wins in a row in all competitions – to repair their start to the season after opening the campaign with defeats against title rivals Manchester City and Chelsea.
One thing which has remained a noticeable problem even in the absence of Arsene Wenger is injuries to key players.
The latest Arsenal star to suffer an injury blow is Petr Cech, who was forced off the pitch by a fitness problem on Saturday to be replaced by new goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
Even though Cech received a lot of bashing for his displays from last season, the veteran shot-stopper has been in much better form so far this term.
And following his injury against Watford, Emery has revealed that the former Chelsea star is likely to miss a couple of weeks of action.
“I don’t know now. We will look tomorrow [Sunday]. I hope not more than maybe two or three weeks he can stay with this injury. It’s muscular.” the Arsenal manager said
