Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has given the biggest indication that Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger will be allowed to spend on world class players this summer despite the signing of Granit Xhaka.
Gazidis while talking to Arsenal fans in a question and answer section confirms Wenger will not be lacking necessary funds to bring in any calibre of player no matter how much it cost.
“We still have to ask ourselves difficult questions: Did we have the right squad depth for certain difficult functions? We have a good idea of where we feel we fell short and where we feel we did well.
“Because we have a highly-visible manager who represents so much continuity, there is a misplaced belief that things don’t change. There has been tremendous change within, fully embraced and led by Arsène.
“We are in a position that we were not in four or five years ago where we don’t have to sell our best players. We can go and sign world-class players if and when the manager identifies them.”
If the America trained South African is actually saying the truth, then Wenger should go all out for Aubameyang. There are not many strikers in the market that we can get after the Gabonese. He is reportedly available for 54 million and that is certainly an amount we can pay.
Signing Vardy will make a lot of sense but if the Leicester City star doesn’t want to come, then the Gabonese despite the amount involved will make a lot of sense. His versatility will be a massive boost to the current Arsenal team.
