Unai Emery has made an impressive start to life as Arsenal manager.
The new Gunners boss oversaw an 8-0 win for his side at Boreham Wood in a pre-season friendly on Saturday as he gets his feet under the table at the Emirates.
Arsenal raced into a 5-0 lead at the break with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang striking a 17-minute hat-trick.
The Gabonese hitman started the game alongside the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, new signing Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Hector Bellerin before Emery made 11 changes at half-time.But the players that begun the match were not present on the bench for the second half – because Emery ordered them back to London Colney for a session, report Football.London.
Speaking before heading back to the training ground, Aubameyang revealed the key work the Spaniard is getting the team to do after exploding into pre-season action.
“Yes, that’s the plan and of course we try to do good pressing, but everyone knows what they have to do and that’s important,” he said.”The coach is doing well in these [first] two weeks. We’re working hard and we try to improve every day.”
