Arsene Wenger has revealed that he thought David Luiz’s red card was justified and criticised the Brazilian’s use of “excessive force” (via Arsenal.com).
It’s becoming a regular thing, Chelsea players getting sent off against Arsenal. That’s three in three competitive matches with David Luiz joining the list on Sunday.
It was a pleasing performance and a decent result for the Gunners who perhaps should’ve won the game, especially when the Blues were reduced to ten men.
Luiz saw red for a studs-up tackle on Arsenal’s Sead Kolasinac and now, manager Arsene Wenger has given his thoughts on the tackle.
“It was excessive force, yes,” Wenger declared after the match.
“I think Kolasinac was not completely on his feet and eased a bit off. I think even Luiz, with a bit of distance, will accept that he went in too strongly.
