Arsenal have been told to forget about signing Paul Pogba after the club lodged a £20 million bid for the youngster.
Pogba left Manchester United last summer on a free transfer to join Manchester United, although Arsene Wenger showed an interest in the midfielder. The Gunners poor start to the season added with the terrible injury crisis has forced Wenger in to the market and following Pogba’s breakthrough season at Juventus, Wenger tried to lure the midfielder back to the Premier League.
Juventus chief executive gave a firm answer to Arsenal’s inquiry about the French youngster by insisting none of their midfielders are for sale.
“Forget Pogba. We have no intention of listening to proposals that can be received in our midfield.”
The Gunners have endured a frustrating summer losing out on targets Gonzalo Higuain and Luiz Gustavo while a move for Luis Suarez looks unlikely. The club have had a £12 million bid rejected for Yohan Cabaye since their dismal defeat to Aston Villa and are yet to hear back from their £6 million bid for Schalke’s Uchida.
Wenger is under pressure to seal some signings before the end of the transfer window and has been linked with several midfielders in the past few days but Pogba is no longer an options following Juventus’ firm stance on the transfer.
