Arsenal boss Unai Emery is reportedly preparing a January bid for Roma winger Cengiz Under, according to the Daily Star, cited by Sky Sports.
With Danny Welbeck recently suffering a long-term injury and youngster Reiss Nelson on a season-long loan to Hoffenheim, Emery has a lack of options out wide and is looking at the £44 million rated youngster as a potential signing in the New Year.
Under, 21, has started the current campaign in fine form, finding the back of the net on three occasions and has also provided five assists in 14 games in Serie A this season.
However, as a result of Under’s impressive start to the season, officials at the Stadio Olimpico are adamant they will not sell the winger in January unless an astronomical offer is made.
The Gunners will have to act fast if they wish to nab the Turkish international when the window opens in January, with reports suggesting Premier League rivals Manchester City and Tottenham are also monitoring the 21-year-old’s situation.
