Arsenal Star Could Join Liverpool – Reports

Arsenal’s French right back Bacary Sagna is one of the beautiful brides European top clubs are jostling for. The reason for this isn’t far-fetched. The Frenchman is a very good and versatile defender, experienced and above all, could be available for free in the summer when his current Arsenal contract must have ran out. Cheap things are good but free ones are better!

PSG, Monaco, Inter Milan and Galatasaray have registered their interest in him and according to information in the Italian media, Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Liverpool have also thrown their hat into the ring for the imminent free agent.

Here are the Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio and colleague Fabrizio Romano’s tweets.

#Sagna: @Arsenal offered a new contract, @LFC wants him too. If he’ll decide to leave Premier League, @inter could have possibilities.

#Liverpool has made an offer to Bacary Sagna for next summer. If he will not sign new contract with Arsenal, on june will be free agent #LFC.

The future of Sagna is really getting interesting but I wonder if he could really join Liverpool. When a player is available on free transfer, anything including joining up with a domestic rival can happen. In the negotiation with Arsenal, Sagna has the advantage because his talent and ability isn’t in doubt and his contract is about winding down so he knows he can always get what he wants elsewhere, that is certainly a bad news but the good news is that Arsenal have the edge when compared to other clubs. Sagna has said it repeatedly that he wants to stay at Arsenal and I believe he wants to because if he didn’t want to, he would have signed a pre-contract with another club. The fact that he hasn’t is a testament to the fact that he wants to stay a Gunner.

All he wants is for Arsenal to show enough resolve and seriousness about keeping him. The Gunners should show desire and offer him the contract he is asking for or at least something close to it.
