Arsenal have completed the signing of nine-year-old Jayden Adetiba from the SuperSport United soccer school after a trial.
The South African youngster had spent five weeks training with the Gunners and he made such an impression that he was signed up by the club.
Having honed his skills every day for two years, the talented player is now on his way to realising his dream of becoming a professional footballer.
Speaking following his son’s deal with the Gunners, John Adetiba said that many of the youngsters at the soccer school have the ability to make it in academies across Europe.
“I have always been a firm believer in allowing all children to have big dreams, but explaining to them also that the pursuit of such dreams must be accompanied with hard work,” he said, as reported by Cape Town ETC.
“Over the years, I’ve heard over and over children being told that very few make it as professional players.
“That may be true, but children must be encouraged to believe that they could one of the few if they work hard.
