After signing Xhaka Granit and said to have made a bid for Alvaro Morata who could next week become an Arsenal player, Arsenal according to a report by Telegraph, have open talks with the represenatives of Jack Wilshere with a view of tying him down to the club for another five years.
The 24-year-old midfielder has missed the bulk of last season due to injury but despite this, Wenger and other Arsenal staffs seen to believe Wilshere is the future for Arsenal and with Manchester City said to be interested in him, the club has decided to move quickly to tie him down to the club till he is 29-year-old. According to the report, he will be given a new contract that will earn him £110,000 a week which will make him one of the highest paid players at Arsenal.
This report if true is a welcome development as Wilshere is certainly one of our best players and if he can stay injury free, he will be a top class player for us. However, we can’t continue to be patient and waiting for Wilshere to deliver any more. Let’s face it, he is already 24 years and should he have another injury season, it may be time to accept fate and let him loose.
Diaby was equally a good player but got ruined by injury, hopefully that won’t be the same case with Jack Wilshere.
