Having failed in their attempt to sign Newcastle United’s Cabaye, Arsenal are now trying to convince former midfielder Mathieu Flamini to resign for the gunners on a free transfer. The midfielder who was recently released by Ac Milan is currently clubless which means Arsenal do not have to pay any transfer fee to acquire his services.
The midfielder who has been training with Arsenal for sometime in order to regain form left the club in a controversial manner in 2009 after rejecting Arsenal’s contract offer. Flamini is also interetsing West Ham and Fulham both clubs are however not willing to pay his £75,000-per-week wages which may put the ball firmly in Arsenal’s court.
Arsenal have this week had a bid of 10 million pounds rejected for another Cabaye and there are reports that they will only settle for Flamini if all efforts to sign Cabaye ( who is now interesting PSG ) from Newcastle fails.
Arsenal are yet to make any signing in this summer’s transfer window aside Yaya Sanogo who was signed on a free transfer from France second division club Auxerre.
