Arsene Wenger is set to raid rivals Manchester United for Portuguese winger Nani. The Premier League champions value the trickster at £9 million and Wenger is set to meet the price, according to reports from Caught Offside.
Wenger has been looking at the 26-year old for a while but wanted to sell Gervinho before making a move for him. Nani struggled to make an impact last season and new boss David Moyes doesn’t see the midfielder in his plans for the upcoming season.
Nani has plenty of pace that will add to an already quick front line with the likes of Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as well as a thunderous long shot and a trick or two but failed to shine when given the chance for Manchester United in the past two seasons.
The former Sporting Lisbon star is keen to remain in England and a move to Arsenal would still see him competing in the Champions League. Wenger still believes Nani has plenty to offer and the player will be eager to impress with the World Cup only a year away.
Wenger has so far failed to bring any big names in with Yaya Sanogo the sole addition so far. With just over 3 weeks until the transfer window shuts, he needs to work fast, starting with Nani’s arrival.
