La Liga giant Ream Madrid has reportedly joined the race to sign N’Golo Kante from Premier league champions Leicester City. Spanish tabloid Marca claim Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has instructed the club to make a move for the versatile midfielder this summer.
Zidane is reportedly looking to strengthen his defensive midfield options, with Casemiro currently Real’s only senior player in that position. N’Golo Kante, 25, joined surprise Premier League champions Leicester City for just £5.6m from French side Caen last summer.
The midfielder went on to play a key role in the Foxes surprise Premier League title triumph, featuring in all but one of their games and earning a call-up to France’s European champioship squad on home soil. His meteoric rise has seen him linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium.
Kante is contracted to the King Power stadium until the summer of 2019 but his deal is said to contain a £22m release clause. As things stand, should Madrid sign Kante fro Leicester, Arsenal should move for Germany midfielder Toni Kroos.
Kroos has got a great array of passes and the big thing for me is he tries to make winning passes, he also tries to make passes that play teammates through, which makes him an upgrade on Welsh man Aaron Ramsey.
