Schalke 04’s Julian Draxler will be joining Arsenal before the transfer window closes if Arsenal’s management are able to convince Schalke to accept their 26 million pounds and Lukas Podolski offer according to high rated German journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft.
Jan Aage Fjortoft told the world via his twitter page @JanAageFjortoft that based on very reliable sources, Arsenal has offered Schalke 30 million Euros which amounts to about 26 million pounds for the player who has been tagged by a section of the German media as the next Mario Goetze.
Julian Draxler is one of the most promising young midfielders in world football at the moment. Draxler made his Bundesliga debut on 15 January 2011 in a 0–1 loss to Hamburger SV. He became at the time the 4th youngest player to have ever played in the Bundesliga. Few days later in a game against Hannover 96, he became the second youngest ever player to start a German Bundesliga game behind Nuri Sahin.
He has a 40 million pounds release clause which according to reports expired in Junes. With time running out and Arsenal haven’t done anything tangible business in the transfer market, offers such as these makes no sense as far as I am concern. Offering a player who is injured and not worth more than 10 million and 26 million pounds at best for a player who has a release clause ( which has expired which means price will be higher ) of 40 million pounds connotes unseriousness.
