Arsenal On VERGE Of Signing 11 Goals 17 Assists Star As Walcott Replacement

Hatem Ben Arfa has been identified as a potential replacement for Leicester City and Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez who has been linked with Arsenal all season.

Ben Arfa has been in impressive form since signing for Nice at the expiration of his ban after he was banned by FIFA in early 2015 for signing three contracts with three clubs in a season (Newcastle , Hull and Nice). The former Marseille winger served his ban and started the new season with Nice scoring 17 goals and providing 6 assists as Claude Puel’s team cruised to Europa League qualification.

Leicester might be be preparing a bid for Ben Arfa in anticipation of Mahrez’s move to Arsenal as rumours of his impending move to North London intensified in recent weeks. Ben Arfa had earlier been linked to Barcelona as the winger will be a free agent this summer after his 12 months contract with Nice expired at the end of last
season.

According to Guillem Balague, talks of Ben Arfa moving to Barcelona are untrue. The Spanish football expert had this to say to Sky Sport about the winger, “Ben Arfa is not an option for Barcelona.

“He was considered because he is available for free, but Barcelona have now said ‘no’ to that possibility .”

This has not stopped the likes of Sevilla, PSG and Leicester from making advances at the player who has come of age in his old age. Arsenal will be interested in what happens with Ben Arfa as his signing by Leicester would signal that Leicester are now ready to let Mahrez join them this summer.
