Arsenal’s German midfielder has declared that time his experience at Arsenal is a far cry from his stint at Real Madrid. He said he feels completely different at new club Arsenal when compared to his time at Real Madrid.
He felt he had no trust left with Real manager Carlo Ancelotti and was offloaded to Arsenal on transfer deadline day for £42.5million.
“It is very important for me that the coach shows faith in me and believes in me,”.
“I had no doubt that I would stay at Real Madrid when last season came to an end. But then something happened and I no longer had the coach’s trust.
“At Arsenal on the other hand, I feel the exact opposite.”
It isn’t a surprise that Ozil is feeling more comfortable at Arsenal. He has the trust of his manager Arsene Wenger, one that trailed him for many years, even when he was youngster. At Arsenal, he is playing in his natural role which is a free role across the attacking midfield position unlike at Real Madrid where he was forced given an unfamiliar role on the wings. I know he has played on the wings for Arsenal already but it has been down to injuries to Arsenal’s wide men unlike at Real when he was thrown there owing to the presence of some players adjudged better than him.
How about goal scoring, he has been more lethal at Arsenal. At Real, he was renowned for his assists but while also maintaining the assists haul, he has also finding the net more regularly. So far, he has already scored 3 goals in less than 15 appearances. His goals have been down to him getting in more attacking positions unlike at Real Madrid. Real’s loss is obviously Arsenal’s gain.
