Arsenal defender, Kieran Gibbs admits the Gunners pulled off an unexpected result at the Signal Iduna Park, where they defeated Borussia 1-0 on home soil.
Aaron Ramsey’s 62nd minute strike settled proceedings and took Arsenal’s points tally to nine from 4 Champions League games and their 14th away win in their last 15 games on their travels.
Gibbs once more showed his quality and consistency with a committed performance against the Bundesliga giants but the English man believes its the whole team which deserves more praise.
“It is massive – especially after the first game [at Emirates Stadium] – because we wanted to come here and prove something and we have done that,” he said.
“We didn’t do it in style, but the way we won the game shows we have a certain character in the team now and it showed.
“It is not an easy place to come to, not many teams can come here and get a result so we have to take that as a positive. We have put ourselves into a strong position for the rest of the group, so it is important that we take advantage of that.
