Arsene Wenger has been handed better news on the injury front after Saturday’s 5-0 victory over Lincoln City.
The Gunners managed to secure a place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup for the third time in four years courtesy of a prolific display against the non-league side.
owever, the victory was marred by an injury to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who was replaced by Mesut Ozil early in the first half.
The 23-year-old had to be withdrawn due to a hamstring problem after producing a string of impressive displays in recent weeks.
Initial fears were that Oxlade-Chamberlain could spend a fairly lengthy spell on the sidelines but according to a new report by respected journalist Ben Dinnery, Wenger expects the midfielder to be back very soon.
Wenger remains optimistic over Oxlade-Chamberlain hamstring injury: “We have to assess it [but] it didn’t look a big one.” #AFC
