The Old lady of Italian football Juventus have further beefed up their squad by paying Roma about €32m for the signature of Miralem Pjanić, who signed a five-year contract with the Italian champions.
The Italian champions Juventus signed the 26-year-old attacking midfielder Miralem Pjanić from Roma for a €32m fee in their quest to defend the Serie A title and perform even better in the Uefa champions league next season.
Pjanic was quoted saying “It’s always been tough to play here in Turin against such a great team and a great club,” said the playmaker after agreeing a five-year contract. “There’s a wonderful atmosphere.
“Now I’m a Juventus player, I’m delighted and I hope that for our opponents it will still be very tough to play here. It’s a great thrill for me. I hope we’ll win together and that the people at Juve will like me.”
The capturing of Miralem Pjanić Juventus has opened the door for the Gunners to sign Mkhitaryan as Juventus have now gotten a like for like player in Pjanic and won’t be needing the Armenian’s services any longer.
Arsenal will have to battle premier league rivals like Chelsea and Manchester United for the signature of Mkhitaryan.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international, Miralem Pjanić scored ten goals in the Serie A last season and provided 12 assists. Pjanić leaves AS Roma after five seasons to join Juventus. The old lady won their fifth straight Scudetto last season.
