Arsenal boss Unai Emery praised how calm his side were in their 3-2 win over Cardiff City on Sunday.
Shkodran Mustafi and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – with his 150th goal in the top five leagues of European football – twice gave the Gunners the lead before Alexandre Lacazette settled matters nine minutes from time.
Victor Camarasa and Danny Ward grabbed equalisers as Cardiff scored their first goals since returning to the Premier League – but Arsenal held on for only their second away league win in 2018.
“The reaction is very important. The reaction was very good. We were calm,” he told reporters.
“The most important thing is to be calm and to continue working. We controlled the match for 70 per cent of the 90 minutes.
On Lacazette and Aubameyang: “They are playing minutes each match and today they started.
“We are continuing to work on the combinations. Today I think the two players scored goals and helped us.
“We can continue to work to find the best performance with each player.”
Emery also addressed the decision to reduce Lucas Torreira to a role on the bench.
“He’s improving. He is getting to know his teammates. For me, all the minutes he is playing is important for his performance.
“He needs to continue working. But it’s very important for me to think about others players, Matteo has started well and Xhaka is very important.
“We need good players. Lucas is like that.”
