According to The Daily Star on Sunday, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger hasn’t given up on signing Bayern Leverkusen’s Lars Bender after his £18.5million was rejected by the German Bundesliga club during the summer transfer window. According to daily star on Sunday, Wenger is ready to go back in for the high rated midfielder once the January transfer window opens.
However, Manchester United are also thought to be interested in the player and are ready to go head to head with Arsenal in the battle for the signature of the German. Daily star reports that David Moyes wants the player and has told United’s scouts to keep a close tab on the player after realising both Carrick and Fellaini are too similar.
Chelsea were also said to be interested in the player but their own interest seems to have died down and should that be the case, either Manchester United or Arsenal will be signing the player should his club finally give up and allow him to leave.
According to reports in German, Bayern Leverkusen will only consider selling the player if a bid of at least 25 million pounds is made for his services.
