Arsenal and Liverpool will be doing battle for high rated Uruguay and Palermo striker Abel Hernandez once the January transfer window opens. Arsenal were reportedly close to signing the player in the last transfer window but nothing came out of the rumours and if reports from Metro are to be believed, Arsenal now have competition for the signature of the player.
Metro are reporting that Liverpool are interested in signing the high rated South American and they are prepared to make their money in January in order to beat off the competition from the gunners. Liverpool are currently short upfront as summer signing Lago Aspas is struggling to adapt to the league in England.
Liverpool believe they can sign the play for as little as £4 million in January. They believe signing the player will help them convince Arsenal target and Abel Hernandez national team mate Luiz Suarez to stay.
It remains to be seen if the player will prefer to go to Liverpool or choose Arsenal over the reds.
