For about a week now, Arsenal have been linked with a move for Wolfsburg’s left-back, Ricardo Rodriguez and things just got complicated.
Reports from France says Rodriguez recently discussed about a move to London club Arsenal, and being able to share a room with his International roommate, Granit Xhaka, who himself just moved to Arsenal, it seems the transfer could well be in the media for couple more days.
Ricardo Rodriguez, who currently plays for German Bundesliga side Wolfsbourg, should the transfer happen, he wouldn’t be signed until after July 1st because of the way the German side’s Financial accounting year works.
The German sides Financial Accounting year finishes on June 30th and they are set to post profits of €70m after tax.
“We have made a killing, economically [it] worked very well.” Klaus Allofs Speaking about the earnings,
Sporting director Klaus Allofs, admits Rodriguez is likely to leave,
With the Germans side new fiscal year starting for them on July 1st, the club want any profits from sales this summer to be included in the new accounts.
When the Gunners were first linked with the Wolfsburg striker, rumour had it that his release clause of €26m was only available until 30th June.
With this latest development, Wolfsburg could accept an offer before the end of June but not complete the deal until July. That would permit the club to both honour the clause and include it in their new accounts.
