Alvaro Morata who has in the last few weeks been constantly linked with a move to Arsenal has hinted he could be his way to the Emirates this summer.
The former Real Madrid man says he would be sad to leave Serie A giant Juventus this summer despite speculation linking him with a move to the English Premier League.
Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked with a move for the Spain international since the 2015/16 came to an end. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is believed to be keen to strenghten his attacking options following England striker Danny Welbeck’s long-term injury.
New Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, on the other hand, is hoping to add more attacking flair to his Manchester United side following his appointment last month.
It’s believed Real Madrid are in pole position to re-sign their youth Academy product after Morata moved to the Serie A champions from The Bernabeu in 2014. The champion’s league winners could activate the buy-back clause in the player’s contract.
Morata discussed his future beyond the end of the summer, insisting that he would be sad to leave the Turin side.
“I heard from my agent and he said that the meeting with Real Madrid was purely to discuss Diego Llorente, so they didn’t talk about my situation,” Morata told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I can’t say much to the Juve fans, I’m sorry, but that’s the way it is. I don’t know what the future holds for me.”
The striker has scored 15 goals in 63 games for the Serie A champions during his two seasons with the Serie A champions
