Arsene Wenger and Arsenal have showed no signs of relenting in their efforts to strengthen their squad in preparation for next season.
After signing Xhaka from Borussia Moenchengladbach, Arsene Wenger has been reported to be looking for a striker and a centre-half. And according to the Telegraph, Arsenal are preparing to make an offer for Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly. Even though Arsenal have Per Mertesacker and Gabriel on their pay roll, Wenger will be looking for fresh legs to replace the ageing Mertesacker and a Gabriel who is prone to making mistakes.
Koulibaly who made 33 Serie A appearances for Napoli this past Serie A season, averaged 2.5 tackles, 2.5 interceptions and 3.6 effective clearances in every league game that he featured in as he impressed throughout the campaign. Koulibaly, who is 24 years of age and stands at a height of 6ft 2inch and is capable of dominating opponents in the air, winning aerial balls and also possesses the physical strengths to cover ground quickly and move about fast.
He has grown to become one of the best defenders in Italy and with a number of clubs already interested, he will be a great addition to the Gunners squad. The Telegraph reports that the Senegalese will cost Arsenal £20m which should not be too much for the Gunners seeing as they announced huge profits made only just recently.
