Fast rising Corinthians youngster Maycon has attracted suitors for himself from several top European clubs after being recently gaining promotion to the Corinthians first team at the beginning of this year before playing 14 games for the Brazilian oufit.
Arsenal scouts, who have tracked the Maycon since he was 15 years old, have made contact with the Brazilian club Corinthians about the availability and development of Maycon according to UOL Esporte
Arsenal are one of a number of suitors to submit an enquiry for the 18-year-old promising teenager as they seek a deal similar to the one which saw Denilson move to Arsenal in the summer of 2006.
It’s believed that the Brazilian club has splashed a transfer fee of about $7.7 million (€7 million) excluding add-ons and any bonuses should the young midfielder succeed after joining Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal.
The Brazilian club, who own a majority share of 80% in Maycon, last did similar deal with a European club earlier in May as another promising youngster Matheus Pereira joined Serie A champions Juventus.
