Arsenal are keeping a close eye on Genk forward Leandro Trossard, according to the player’s agent.
With Danny Welbeck set to miss the remainder of the season after suffering a broken ankle in he Europa League goalless draw with Sporting CP earlier in the month, the Gunners are expected to dip into the transfer market in January to find a replacement.
Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele would be the popular choice amongst supporters, Nicolas Pepe’s name has been mooted following an impressive start to the season with Lille and a Reiss Nelson recall from a loan spell at Hoffenheim has been suggested.
However, another option appears to be Trossard.
The 23-year-old has netted 11 goals in 19 appearances across all competitions so far this season and his agent, Josy Comhair, has claimed that the Gunners are interested i
“I contacted representatives from Arsenal and Tottenham. At Spurs, nobody wanted to confirm that Trossard is an option, but Arsenal did,” Comhair said, as reported by Sport Witness . “They told me Leandro has a very interesting profile for them and that they’ve been following him since August.
“They also added it was a good choice to stay at Genk for another year. They ended the phone call with ‘They are keeping a close eye on him’.”
