Arsenal are making progress for a new deal for Alexis Sanchez, this is according to report.
ALEXIS SANCHEZ has admitted he would have loved to have played alongside Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
manager Arsene Wenger has opted to play Alexis Sanchez as a centre-forward this season, with the Chilean returning 14 goals and 12 assists across all competitions.
The 28-year-old forward, who is normally deployed on the left flank, believes he would be even better with former Gunners striker Henry as his partner up front.
“I would like to have played with Henry,” Sanchez said. “He could score, play one-twos with you, pass the ball, hold it… he had a huge repertoire and great vision too.
“I like playing with players with such a panoramic vision.”
Henry – now assistant manager at Belgium – is the Gunners’ all-time leading scorer with 226 goals to his name over two spells at the north London club.
And Sanchez has conceded the former France international would be the goalscorer and he would be the provider if they had worked together up front.
“I think as a partnership we would do great together,” he added. “We would be constantly moving, going up and down, coming and going.
“I would have loved playing with Henry. He was more of a scorer than I am. I think I would assist him for every goal he would score! I’m more into passing and he is a great goalscorer.”
