Alexandre Lacazette has admitted he would be keen on a move to Atletico Madrid in the summer.
The French forward, who Sportsmail understands is a target for Arsenal in the transfer window, has scored 35 goals in 44 games for Lyon this season and helped them reach the Europa League semi-final.
And he identified one of Europe’s biggest clubs as a potential destination due to one of their squad members.
Asked about Atletico, Lacazette said: ‘Yes, I like them. They’ve got great players, a great manager, a good fanbase and Antoine [Griezmann] is there.
‘We’ll see what happens at the end of the season and I’ll think about it then,’ he continued in an interview with Lyon’s in-house television channel.
‘There are things, but the press talk about a lot of clubs, but I trust what my agent tells me and we’ll see.’
Even so, Lacazette was insistent that he would not leave Lyon in the summer ‘for the sake of going’.
But president Jean-Michel Aulas also admitted that he would allow the 25-year-old to depart Parc Olympique Lyonnais for the right side in the summer.
Despite refusing to be drawn on which club that is, Aulas said on Tuesday: ‘Alex had a good option with a club that is in his heart.
‘If the club of his heart is able to match our demands – as Barcelona did last season for Sam Umtiti – then things will go well. Otherwise, it will depend on our other business.
