Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly met Alexandre Lacazette’s agent to negotiate a move to North London but is being put off by Lyon’s asking price of about £40m according to the Mirror.
The Arsenal manager is on the lookout for another striker after losing England international Danny Welbeck to knee injury and the Gunners have been forced to seek alternative targets after England international Jamie Vardy snubbed a move to Arsenal in favour of staying at the King Power Stadium.
Arsenal has been linked with lot of players in recent weeks and reports revealed last week that the Gunners are on the verge of signing Japanese youngster Takuma Asano from J-league side Sanfreece Hiroshima.
Wenger is also expected to sign more established striker and while the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Alvaro Morata are still being linked to the club, Lacazette has emerged as a realistic target.
According to The Mirror, Arsene Wenger met with the agent of 25-year-old Lacazette in France last week to discuss a move to Arsenal, but Lyon’s £40m+ asking price is way above Arsenal’s valuation.
I’m of the opinion that the striker is not World class just yet but there is a real lack of forwards on the market this summer. Top clubs are after Morata and Napoli want lot of money for Higuain so you can understand why Arsene is taking a close look at Lacazette.
