With Granit Xhaka signed and officially confirmed and Jamie Vardy looking like in the bag, Arsenal are said to still be in the market for another attacker. Arsenal have in recent times been linked with the signing of highly prolific AZ Alkmaar’s Vicent Janssen. Wenger is said to have been impressed with the scouting reports he has recieve on the player and plans to make a move for him this summer.
The player netted 30 times last season in 42 games. He was one of the few strikers who scored over 30 goals in competition last season which explains why Wenger might have taken an interest in him. With Danny Welbeck out till March and Theo Walcott looking like he will be joining Liverpool, Arsenal certainly could do with two and not one striker.
The player himself has now added fuel to the fire by saying he will consider a move to England and that he is waking for the phone call. Metro quoted him to have said; ‘I want to make a step, that is clear. But there is no white smoke just now. England? We will see. Maybe something will happen in the holidays. I will take my phone with me anyway.’
Should he join Arsenal, he will be expected to compete with Giroud, Welbeck ( when he returns ) and hopefully Jamie Vardy for a starting shirt and should he sign, I believe Wenger will consider a two striker system for Arsenal in some games next season.
