Daily Express reports that Arsenal might be tempted to sell off talented attacking midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer to Liverpool. Liverpool are not the only club known to be interested in the English player as Leicester City have also shorn interest in the 22-year-old former Southampton player.
Chamberlain has struggled with injury, fitness and form for the past two seasons and even missed the Three Lions squad for the Euro 2016 in the summer.
The Ox as he is fondly has played 924 minutes for Arsenal in the Premier League last season scoring one goal and creating one assist. This could mean a below par performance prompting his sale as the likes of Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere and Mohammed El’Neny can play in attacking midfielder while the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Iwobi and Joel Campbell can also play on the right side of attack which is also Chamberlain’s position.
This has prompted the interest of Jurgen Klopp who sees Chamberlain as an improvement compared to the likes of James Milner and Jordan Henderson who has also battled with injury all through the past two seasons.
With Chamberlain off, it appears we are getting Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City. Jeremy Wilson of the Telegraph had last week confirmed Arsenal are interested in signing Mahrez should they be able to get some of the players currently at the club off the wage bill.
Mahrez, Vardy, Xhaka, Rodriguez and a centre back will simply be a great summer for Arsenal.
